Mosaics By Jill reflect the movement and texture found in nature. Jill Rowland is professionally trained as a special education teacher and a clinical social worker. Mosaics By Jill often represent the complexities of the struggle of the soul. The colors used in Mosaics By Jill can be symbolic of celebration, grief, joy, healing, and other emotional energies encountered throughout life. "My art is an expression of lessons learned from students with disabilities and children that have been hurt by others. As I see children heal from physical and emotional wounds, I celebrate life with color.".

Each mosaic is intended for indoor use. The substrate is made of medium density fiberboard (mdf). Various media is used to make the mosaic. Types of glass include vitreous glass tile, SICIS glass tile, smalti, stained glass, iridescent glass, and marbles. Materials used to create texture include polished river rocks, shell beads, decorative organic beads, buttons, and other interesting treasures. Each mosaic is grouted,sealed, signed and dated. The back of each piece is finished with a label, frame bumpers, and hardware.
